Help!! about a Reverse Charge on Debit Cards

If a merchant reverses a charge, How long does it take until the money is credited back to my account?

Depends on the merchant. I've had them go through the same day, I've had them go through 5 days later. It all depends on when they process their charge accounts. If it's a major merchant shouldn't be more than a day or two.

Yea, that's what I thought too. The longest I've had was like 3 days, But this one has been almost a week, they reversed the charge last weekend.
The merchant was a car dealer, so it should be quick right?

I don't know about the car dealer. I have a feeling that they probably don't reconcile their charge accounts too often though because the majority of people at car dealerships pay by check. Merchants usually wait until they have a decent amount of charges/charge-backs before the reconcile with the credit card companies. They incur a fee everytime they do so they wanna make it count. If it doesn't show up in another day or two, I'd contact the dealer and ask them about it.

I had to wait around a week for a car rental... If you really are worried try calling your visa company. I check my CC online but on phone they have more updated info...You probably don't need to worry about anything though.

I called the car dealer, they said it should be there by monday or tuesday, since they reversed the charge in the weekend. I also have access to my account info online, so I'm checking it everyday.
