HELP! Abit KT7A-RAID doesn't boot

Hi guys, could you please help me with the problem as following:

I have a ABIT KT7A-RAID with an Athlon 1.2, working fine until i decided to take them apart to clean. After i put them all up, and turned the power on, only fans are working but the system didn't boot at all (CPU was still getting hot). I thought CPU might be dead so i took it to my friend's comp with the same specifications, and it wouldn't boot either. After we put his original CPU back on, his system wouldn't boot also (same problem).
Has anyone got this problem before and any idea how to solve it would be highly appreciated.
Cheers,

Make sure to plug in the heatsink into the motherboard Abit's bios has a blockade which causes the mobo not to boot if the heatsink is not plugged in, for other ideas go here
good luck fellow Abit KT7A -RAID owner.... if you cant find the solution, pm me I might help you out more....

THanks for your help.
Heatsink is installed in the right way and i also checked out Paul's FAQ w/o any luck. I wonder if I caused a short-circuit to my mobo why take it out and reinstall it.
Cheers

Hmm I did send you another PM, if your buddy has similar setup, and he is not afraid, ask heim to borrow you the components from his comp such us video, memory and processor, then you will know for sure.....
Regards!

I have the same problem I hav a brand new ABIT KT7A Raid mobo, and an Athlon XP the poweron the mobo goes on the cpu gets VERY HOT, and the vid card is good(tested in my old system works fine) the screen wont come on or anything. Does anyone know what I can do I am going crazy!

Well, I read over the Faq and everything else. I am hoping that my CPU is not toast now. Has anyone had this issue and fixed it? Please help...
Jon

Do you guys hear a long beep?? if so reseat the rams. Many times ABIT mobos can be fixed by reseating the ram or inserting into another slot. If you dont hear the beeps, clear the cmos and reboot.
