Hi! I have 2 BFG 6600 GT OC, PCI express cards and I'm trying to put them in SLI mode on the ASUS A8N SLI Deluxe. I have an OCZ ModStream 450 Watt (single rail), I plugged in the EZ Plug connector, I made sure I put the little selector card over to "Dual Video Cards," and I connected the little bridge connector across the 2 cards gold fingers. When I boot, there is only 1 Display Adapter visible in the device listing during POST, and when Windows boots up, it only shows 1 6600 GT in the device manager under display adapters. The nVidia drivers (66.93 I think. . .whatever is latest from nvidias website) say that my system supports 2 video cards and tells me I should install a second card for greater performance. Normally here it is supposed to have a checkbox to check for enabling dual GPU. I am using BIOS 1002 since I tried 1003 and my SATA hard drive would no longer detect.

If put either one of the cards in the top (blue) PCI express slot and flip the selector card thingie over to single, the system boots fine on whichever of the 2 I place there. But it never detects whichever one is in the second (black) slot. What's going on here?? HELP!!

I'm sorry, I figured out the problem. Everything was set up correctly except the single / dual video card selector card was not firmly in place. It was not seated correctly apparently by about a millimeter or 2. After trying everything else I could possibly think of, I was about to RMA the motherboard for having a faulty PCI exp. 2 slot. Then at the end of my rope I decided as a last ditch effort, to flip the selector card over to single mode with 2 cards in place and try it to see if maybe the card was mislabeled (I was going to RMA the board anyway so what the heck). Then I noticed it was not completely straight in the slot. So I removed it, cleaned it off, and reseated it and everything worked great! Can't believe how long it took me to figure that out. I even had the BFG tech on the phone in the middle of the night, then 15 minutes after that and after I posted here I figured out the problem. . .isn't that the way it always works?
