Hi, I've recently purchased another Crucial PC1600 DDR 256MB dimm to add to my existing (identical) one. Even though the bios Asus A7M266's bios detects everything ok, when I get to the point where the OS (win 2k sp2) begins to boot the system freezes and I get nothing but a blank screen. Taking out either dimm returns the system to normal and it boots again.
I read on Asus's site (July mainboard column) that the A7M266 has this problem and that the answer is to flash to the latest bios and change the RAM voltage (which I've done, tested on all 3 settings). This does not work for me however. Any advice guys/girls?
