So what's the deal with no AA AF on some games not working with an Ati card? Is this true? Why and are they going to fix the issue? To me the best money spent would be a 5850 when the need for an upgrade arises but the AA AF bothers me.

AFAIK, there's no such concern involved. There might be a couple issues on The Way It's Meant To Be Played titles, but that's not ATI's fault. Can anyone back me up here? You should be able to force AA and AF in the Catalyst Control Center for most titles.

AFAIK, the only AA issue was in Batman:AA. Ironic the title has AA but the game doesn't.

Yeah, I can't think of any other games with AA disabled for ATi cards. You can force it on in the control panel anyway.

That happens in most Unreal engine 3 based games, but affects both Nvidia and ATI, because the engine does not have AA built in.
The "issue" you probably heard is the one with Batman.

Batman AA is the only game I've heard of and it's Unreal 3 enine games which don't support AA, since there all console ports.

If you force AA and AF in CCC AND you apply AA and AF in a game settings, is this hurting performances as if it was activated 2 times over each other...I know it sounds newb but I always asked myself that question...

As best as I can tell, the CCC's settings supersede those of the game. That is, only the CCC's settings will be used and nothing will be activated twice.

No. AA/AF is either run in the game settings (if available) or forced from the ATI or NV control panels. It's either one or the other -- it won't be activated twice.
