Help a poor college student =)

I'm a computer science major starting my 3rd year and I had a job lined up for my time at school. I've only taken 2 semesters of c++ at school and I have no java experience. The job would have been very posh because I would have been taught as needed for things that I didn't already know how to do in c++, AND I could work from home.
Now I'll get to the reason I'm posting this. My roommate whose brother-in-law I was getting the job thru, decided that he could only hire one of us-so naturally that excludes me since I'm not family. Now I have no job lined up and I won't be able to gain experience while I'm working towards my degree. BIG DISAPPOINTMENT.

I still would like to find such an arrangement, if possible, with some other company the only dilemma I have is that I don't know where to look. Where should I begin?

I've looked at the job engines online before and even applied to some jobs thru those sites with no luck. Any suggestions on where I should look would be immensely appreciated.

THANKS FOR ALL REPLIES IN ADVANCE.

Afrochops, do you have to od any Co-op/Internships with your school? I'm going to RIT right now and have to complete four ten week paid co-ops. The school will help you find them if you don't know of anyplace to start. I'd like a programming job now (I'll be strating my third year), but I just don't feel too confident since I've only had a few Java and C programming courses. Hopefully, after my first co-op I'll be feeling more ready for a "real" job during the rest of my time at school. Good luck with the search and let me know it works out.

Doh! I have been out of school too long :/ I forgot that most colleges have bulletin boards somewhere on campus that list local jobs. Thanks jumpem, you sparked my memory. 😉
And co-opping is a good idea. Not to mention internships (if you dont NEED the money...)
