my p4 1.8 gig with PC 133 SDRAM dell pc is getting long in the tooth.

should I buy another dell, build my own rig, or just upgrade that pc?

I am not looking for a super gaming rig.. just something that is decent

how much should I be looking for if I built my own PC? since I already have an XP cd.. that will save me money right..

Forget what you have, sell it in the fs/ft.
And build your own pc.

Price point would help.

the like about dell is I can just buy it and not worry about other stuff.. maybe just add a better vid card or more ram..

building my own rig, I have to worry about driver issues, compatibility, etc

my price point is preferablly <$500
 
You already have the XP CD from the Dell? Might not work with a non-Dell, and the legality is... yeah.

Are you looking to game much at all, or is this just for general daily use?

thinking of doing a bit of gaming.. but not hardcore FPS games
