HELP! 6800GT or X800 Pro

Good Morning All,
I have a delema I am looking to purchase another mid to high end video card, however I've been looking at all the reviews for both 6800GT and X800Pro. But no luck they say its all equal but majority of the games being used for the test Nvidia keeps inching more that ATI. I am an avid ATI Fan freak however they are getting to big and overpricing some of their cards. And also could some one clarify both cards Texture per pixel or pixels per clock cycle.

If you guys could direct me to a good distributor not ASUS.

Thanks,

TheMessiah

I'd go with an nVidia.

the 6800GT is the best card you can get for the $ I think,

I like ATi too, but unless you get an X800 Pro VIVO modded to XT then the X800 Pro is IMO not quite as good as the 6800GT.... also keep in mind all you have to do to a 6800GT is OC to Ultra. no modding required.

Brands like eVGA, and BFG are great for NVIDIA cards.

6800GT. I've got mine rock stable at 430/1140 and temps never go over 70C. I can reach 450 stable, but I don't like the temps that high.

Good choice. The Leadtek has probably the best cooling solution too.

yeah I have one in for the x800 Pro Also. In real world gaming it can keep up with the GT and I prefer ATI's drivers myself, just seem easier to work with. Pro All they way!

If they are identical in price, the 6800. However, you may be able to get the x800 for cheaper than the GT (in fs/ft at least).

I had a Pro, then upgraded to an XT when Microcenter had it's big sale ($412 shipped!).

But, last week I bought a BFG Ultra OC for $400. I managed to resist temptation though, and my friend is buying it from me.

So, I'd say get the Pro, if the difference in price is > $20. Otherwise, the GT. While they're still pretty close in performance, the ability to OC AND have 16 pipes (vs 12) will give the 6800 the nod every time.
