Hey guys, Thanks for your interest in helping. I returned both motherboards and cpus to tigerdirect and they said they would not charge restocking fee. I liked that. Yes I tried lots of different configurations to get it to boot as well as reseting/flashing bios. I don't know what the hell is wrong with that combo. I went back to my old socket a Asus deluxe motherboard and just ordered an athlon xp with 400fsb. No way I was buying a sempron. Before long that is all that will be available for socket a. I figure this will hold me for another couple years. I guess I just wasn't meant to get in on the new s939 and 64 computing. /sigh ! sure did want too ! Thanks for you interest in helping me out.
 
Can you please give a full list of the components in your system inc case and power supply, also please detail your operating system, service pack and any resident applications - eg Antivirus software.

oh, one more thing, if i want to rma my mobo or cpu, do i go to tigerdirect (where i bought the combo) or do i have to go to asus and amd? because i sent the upc for rebate purpose and i didn't make a copy of it.....
