Hi,

I have DELL Dimension 8100 has P4 1.5 Ghz,
Right now it has 256 MB of RAM and I would like to increase the RAM to 512 MB.

Architecture - RDRAM
RIMM sockets - four
BIOS address - F8000h (PC800)

CONFIGURATION:
two 128 MB in the first to slots(sockets) and the last two slots are CRIMMS

HERE:

1.) Four (4) 128 MB = 512 MB

or

2.) Two (2) 256 MB = 512 MB

Which of the two configuration would you recommend, the no. # 1 or no.# 2??
WHich is TECHNICALLY better???

Pls. any advice??

Thnx,
2Oliver

it doesnt matter as long as you install the memory in pairs, and it matches the speed with all 4 rimms. If you put in PC800 rimms you would have to run all of your memory at PC800, not PC1066.

If you get the 2x256 you can also use the 2x128 you already have inside. Just get 2 sticks of 256MB PC800 rdram.
