i installed a ata 100 hard drive so is the motherbaord detecting it at that mode or do i need to modify it becuase its at default ata66?

a bit of advice... dont post 10+ messages all beginning w/ "HELLLLPP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" within a day because it does get rather annoying to see so many different messages all dealing w/ the same thing all from the same person.

To your problem. If you are using a ata100 drive on a ata100 controller w/ the proper cable (ata66 cable) then it should be ata100. The only way it would drop is if it wasnt ata100 or if you were using a ata33 cable... There may be a setting in the bios that makes it ata100 but theoretically an ata100 drive on a ata100 port will be at ata100 spec. Also, ata66 cannot be default for an ata100 controller... the ata100 spec is backwards compatible w/ the older spec and should not have to be changed or messed w/ in the bios...
