WTF, they make you pay? I figured it was like all of the other shows where they pay you like $20 to come in and maybe if you're lucky you get a nice meal out of it too.
 
People who have allegedly been on the show claim that it doesn't actually cost you a thing. In fact, they pay you $50 for your time and you may or may not actually get to eat anything from the kitchen. The only way to get on the show is to know somebody, be somebody, or contact the production company when they are actually filiming and hope they are needing warm bodies. Since the current season is already in the can and another season is already in process and/or may have already completed filming, good luck with that.

It looks like they shoot enother episode ever other day. Takes one day to do the task/reward and the next day is service. So they can likely do 3 or 4 seasons in just a few months time.
 
Guests used to east for free, now they pay.

The show is filmed all in one go, as in they really aren't there for weeks and weeks.

Seasons are usually shot one per year, except in 2009 which had two seasons airing almost back to back (but filmed at different times).

There's also a year lag between when a season is shot and when it airs (except for the 2nd 2009 season).
 
I saw a couple episodes of Kitchen Nightmares. You wanna talk about obviously scripted shows, there's one. Every single episode is exactly the same.

Don't watch Hell's Kitchen. I saw maybe one episode and it didn't grab my attention that much. Masterchef is decent though.
 
it is unbelievable to me that Tommy is not only still in it but that he's even made it this far.. I started watching this season when there were about 10 left but this guy consistently looks completely lost.

I knew they wouldn't fire Elise, she has her fits/moments but she does have some talent.

The problem with masterchef is it's still fairly scripted, almost always the close ties like in hells kitchen but the main issue with it is while it's a decent show it's to advanced for the average person to watch as they talk about methods of cooking many have never heard of before.

Tommy and that ditzy blonde were like a real-life dumb & dumber. Now that dumber is gone, dumb should be next.
 
i think it will come down to the big girl, and the dude who wears the baseball hat backwards.

what's funny is if elise makes it far, everyone when they come back to help, will just screw her over anyways haha

The more I watch this show the more I dislike it. Its getting hard to watch knowing that its scripted and just fake. Elise is so annoying I mute my TV everytime she begins to talk. She doesnt belong on the show any longer but they keep her for the drama. IMO it is making this season crap.
