as far as setting are concerned i use the lowestsetting
 
you have an 8800 series video card, don't you?

you have to bypass the launcher program.
create a shortcut to the SP .exe file
in the target section of the shortcut (right click, properties), at the end of the line type a space and -LL

so for exampel, you have c:\program files\ubisoft\scda\scda_sp.exe -LL


i had the same exact problem and that fixed it.

Double agent doesn't officially support the 8000 series cards, thats why

thats because you're doing it wrong. you put the -LL in the launcher shortcut's target window. you have to create a new shortcut to the actual single player .exe file.

here's where the file is located (you may need to change the drive letter if you installed to a different drive):

C:\Program Files\Ubisoft\Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell Double Agent\SCDA-Offline\System\SplinterCell4.exe
