631252-001 these space part number from hp
what its socket?
FCBGA1023 or PPGA988
how i can now which socket is my laptop?
if it is FCBGA1023 i can upgrade to a
i7-2646m
which will have 30% less igpu perfomance
but it will come in an envelop of 25watt instead of 35watt
the i3-2330m it has now it is made in both FCBGA1023, PPGA988
so how can i know the socket??

deleted run cpu z and show it has the ppga988

You will barely even notice any increase in battery life as a result of that upgrade. The cpu doesnt run near its max power usage very often. 90% of the time it is near idle, and those two chips consume basically the same power at idle.

i was aiming for lower temp not for better perfomanse
but it does not matter
my socket does not support those i7 anyway :'(
and all because intel had i3 and i5 mobile procesors in 2 diferent socs
why!?!?!!?
and i7 only in one
so your upgrade path is limiteddddddddddd

Hah. For laptops, I always assume that what you buy it with will be what it dies with.

In the Ultrabook world we are about to inhabit, this is only going to become more and more reality since the serviceability is going to be horrendous.

well i looked the laptop manual and has instructions how to remove the cpu
so it is not soldered but there is a socket
since the laptop with medium work i am 45 and easily climps to 60+
i searched intel site and see the the 25 watt cpu which where not bad at all
the 17watt if you do not have a discrete gpu then it is going to hurt you
so from 35 to 25 watt would have made the laptop run much cooler i imagined
i had already found a shop that sold the processor
lol i only lack the socket
