great. another newb. this place is going down the drain.

(j/k, i know this guy, close friend from highschool. what a dork)

I wondered if I'd run into you here. Glad to see you haven't disappeared off the face of the earth.

=) I'm the 'digerati' he talks of. I built his (... er her ... I'll explain later) shuttle box. Was quite an experience. His/Her old system was a p3 800 or so, with a voodoo3 3000. Felt quite good seeing someone go from that (Halflife was almost playable on the old p2 300, then much better on the p3 800, and then awesome on the shuttle) to this blazing fast speed demon.

About the His/Her thing:
He used to be a *she* back when I knew her in highschool. Hot hot girl. Which is why I started talking to her to begin with. We became friends (never went beyond that, see , since i was a 'nerd' and she was ... well HOT), and I started helping her out with her computer problems and whatnot. Built her a p2 300, then her 800mhz p3, and then a few years later the p4 shuttle. She had this thing for computer games, which I never understood. She looked like a prom queen, and I'd never seen any girl who looked that good ever mention anything about computer games. Being an avid gamer myself, I'd talk to her about half life and quake and star craft and the rest of the games she played.

Near the end of highschool, she confessed that she'd always felt like a male stuck in a female's body. This explained many of her behavioral anomalies (big into guns, into gaming, cars, sports ... and please dont think im being sterotypical, but she always liked typical guy things). We ended up going to different colleges, and I found out a few months into my freshmen year that she'd gotten the operation. Now she was a he. I respected that. I mean, be whatever you feel most comfortable being. I'm not one to judge. Anyway, he is now a guy, and he's happy. And I'm happy for him. Welcome to the forums. You'll have a ton of fun here.

Not to rain on anyone's parade, but did you consider his feelings before posting this? You sure he wanted everyone to know? If yes, then big deal. If no... jesus man don't scare off the n00bs so they don't come back.

For the love of all that is good and holy, leave while you still have the will and ability to do so.

And help me get out of here too.

Are you trying to hit on me?

That depends... is it working?

Only if that's you in the picture 😀

Of course it's not me. That should be obvious -I don't wear glasses.
