Hello Moderators and Administrators of AnandTech...TeAm AnandTech SETI Race ..Update: DSLR pulling away....bad..bad!

Just curious.....you may have noticed that we are having a two month long race with DSL Reports in SETI. All the details are in the Distributed Computing forum.

First...thanks so much for allowing our recruiting threads throughout the other forums...they have helped a ton

Second...would it be possible to get a little "Front Page Coverage" with this race? It could really help the TeAm and the SITE too in such an intense race...both teams have jockeyed for position the last 8 days...back and forth...back and forth...and it would be great to get just a little extra press coverage....

Perhaps having the thread moving around on each forum gets more attention.

I've tried to ignore it, but the front page of Hot Deals and FS/FT are not needing multiple

"OMG HOT HOT SETI ACTION, SO MUCH FUN ULL CUM OMG"


anybody else spams like that gets a vacation

The only reason for multiple threads is the overlap from the old to the new!

And the Forum Issues doesn't need the explicit descriptions you gave either!

Ignore it...there are about 3000 people here who love DC and enjoy the race.....

And we have permission, until taken away, by the moderators to keep one LIVE thread per forum..and we don't even do all the forums...just the heavy hardware and high traffic areas....

One thread in 50,000 bothers you so bad?

I have no problem with the race, or the threads, it the lack of self control and the fact you clownboats need to bump the thread every 5 minutes. You don't need multiple threads either, 95% of the threads are you saying "Welcome New Members."

The 3000 I refer to is the total (or more) of all the TeAm AnandTech DC teams...not just the SETI team!

As I said earlier...we have "ONE ACTIVE" thread...if that one get's too large...it's time for a new one!

Yes..we welcome new members and bump the thread to the next page when it falls!

You can take your "god" elsewhere. I didn't ask for, nor do I need it's "love", nor do I wish to engage in one of AT's fabulously stupid religion threads.


with that said, you are crapping my threads because I am trying to sell stuff in the FS/FT forum. The SETI people can't get it through their collectively thick skulls that you're not supposed to be bumping your thread everytime it hits the second page in FS/FT. Advertising your silly contests and games are one thing. Blatant disregard and disrespect for established rules in other forum is another, and that's what I have a problem with.

If they gave you permission ahead of time, why would they need to "notice" the threads. Wouldn't the mods/admins know in advance that you are doing something you have "permission" to do.

FWIW, highme, I see your point regarding the constant bumps from page 2; personally, I think some of the bumping has been a little excessive too - you may note that I don't bump them very often myself, primarily because I don't usually visit more than 3 or 4 of the forums on AT anyway(and almost never in OT).
