Just dropping by :)

Been crunching for SETI@Home since 2003, finally got psyched up with Q6600... and even more with my Q9450. Using the 64-bit BOINC and 64-bit optimized science app AK v8.0 SSSE3x. Runs satisfyingly fast, completing each WU between around 30-45 mins, running 4 processes.

Keep on crunching, yeah!

Awesome rig & numbers you'll be getting from that .
What did you o/c your Q6600 to?
Atm I haven't been able to get mine over 3GHz but I'm hoping a new P45 mbrd will take that much higher ;).
Btw what rank are you in TA?

Been crunching since Oct '99 ;)

Q6600 was only up to 3GHz with safe temps due to high ambient room temp (30C+ / 90F+). My rank in TA is probably somewhere in the 4 digits zone, been skipping crunching for a bit since my system eats up some 340 Watts whenever crunching and it's not so good for the electricity bill :( But I still crunch anyway most times.

I only started knowing computers in 99, it was a Pentium MMX 200MHz! Then got myself a P!!! 500MHz 2 years later, this is when I actually started crunching but not so much, PC was just too slow. 2 years later is when I got 1.33GHz Athlon, that's when I started crunching alot more.

30-45 min is pretty quick for a WU. how many WU's did you have that finished that quickly? My x3350 @ 3.6 takes closer to 50-55 min using the v8.0 sse4.1 optimized science app, my mem is at ddr2 1080 w/ trd 7.

To get a more accurate idea of WU times you need to be comparing WUs of virtually the same credit (or AR).
That reminds me of my benchmarking thread, need to get back on the case soon......

340w!?:Q, man that's a lot!, mine uses 225w when crunching @3GHz.
Is that with your 9800 crunching F@H too?
