Every Tuesday afternoon the seti@home project is down for maintenance. Most - often all - servers are down. Just wait a few hours and the project will start up .. 🙂

From the front page of seti@home:
Weekly Outage
Every Tuesday morning (Pacific time) we have a 3-4 hour outage for database maintenance. The upload/download servers and some web pages are offline during this time.

Oh, welcome to the TeAm crunching!

Hi SD!

It's good to see another old timer come back to the fold. 🙂

I never got completely out of DC, but I'm not nearly as rabid about assimilation as I was 10 years back. I have been doing DPAD/Muon for the last few years.

My fastest machine was an Athlon 64 3400 until I finally assimilated my wife's new Athlon X2 5050e, so you are right in there with me. 😛 I still have a few Athlon XP rigs around here.

Gee, I still have a P3 800 running as a file server.....Boy BX boards sure don't know when to quit. It's an Intel Seattle if memory serves. Why do I remember such stuff??

It's doing SETI for now. I figure I might as well keep going on that since I contributed a ton of work to it in the past.

Yea saw your name in Spaceheads stats 🙂

Hey Viz
I've got my old Celeron 366 @550 in an old Asus BX mbrd still going strong 🙂, although it's mostly off now.

LOL @ Dennis 😀

Hey Wolfie, you 99er you, 😉

Hi SD

I remember you too.

I would still be crunching but I move practically every 6 months so hard to get going with this kind of mobility.

Another familiar face or two. 🙂

/me waves

I am a bit saddened by the state of the DC world. Seems the proliferation of computing power is causing bandwidth issues all over the place. Top that off with someone cutting through 9 OC-48 lines on the east coast on Wednesday. Was an interesting day for me trying to figure out how to route all that traffic around what should have been the main pipe leaving that region. I guess it's good we have more fiber in the ground than just what Verizon put down. I think perhaps someone might need to update their CV after that little fiasco. 😛

I am just glad I didn't have to fix it. I hate splicing fiber when you have to sit in a freshly dug up ditch to do it. Actually, I hate splicing fiber anywhere; it just sucks a lot more when you have to do it outside with no environmental controls.
