Well we need to check your nerd cred, so here's a fun problem.

You've been hired by an amusement park to build their new zipline ride. The stated requirement is that it be the zipline with the largest drop in the world (height at least N), and it needs to connect across a natural canyon at the park of width M, but further that to get as many customers on it as possible, it must be the shortest possible ride time.

If we start with the assumption of essentially no friction, and that you will make the height exactly N and the width will be just enough to get across the canyon - what length is the cable that will provide the shortest travel time, and describe the shape.

Next if we unpin the ends and allow for any height greater than or equal to N, and any width greater than or equal to M, does there exist a choice of height and width that will provide a shorter travel time than exactly N,M; prove your result either way.

Did you mix-up "<" (less-than) and ">" (greater-than)? Can't really be sure. :hmm:
