Alright, I bought this game about a week ago and my buddy just got it today. I had waited to get Online until he had the game so we could run a co-op. Anyways, he logged on with no problems because he used his Beta account. I had to go create an account because even though I got a Beta Invite, I never used it. Well, after going through the entire process of my inputting my Serial Key, logon information, e-mail address, etc. I finally submitted all the information only to find that my Serial Key is invalid.

After numerous attempts at checking and re-checking the serial key to make sure it was correct, it turns out that my Serial Key is already in-use. I doubt that Flagship gives out duplicate Serial Keys for ****s and giggles and it seems too early for keygens to be out yet.

So does anyone have any idea about what I could do to fix this without shipping my manual to FFS so they can check the key and then re-issue me another one? It is quite an unnecessary and arduous process that I wish to avoid. If all else fails, I would much rather use a keygen myself than wait two weeks for a new serial key to be issued to me. Next semester of classes starts January 14th and I don't want to spend most my vacation waiting on FFS to ship me a new serial key when I could use that time to play some co-op with my buddy.

I tried that at first. But you have to have an account to visit the forums and you have to have a valid Serial Key to create an account.

Question - What can I do if my cdkey is already in use in another region?

Answer - If the cdkey is in use in another region, the retailer or seller has sold the item before or sold the cdkeys by region. Please contact the retailer or seller for a new key as they fraudulently sold the items too you.

BTW - there is a cdkey generator... [simply found by searching google].

Good Luck in getting your problem resolved. I'd take it back to the store and tell them your story...

Don't use a CD-Key gen, just call the retailer you bought it from and explain it. If that doesn't work go directly to the company and get it done.

I don't want to use a keygen, but I want to play with my buddy. And thanks for those numbers. I shall return to the store (not easy this close to Christmas) and see if I can get a new copy in exchange. Other than that, I will be calling FSS and see what can be done.

Oh, and I did Google Keygens this morning. There are no working ones that I could find.

If you bought the game call them and they will fix it.

Well this is going to be fun. Due to the holiday season, they won't be able to get me a new one for at least a couple weeks and Best Buy won't exchange the game.

Then I think your best choice would be use your friends forum account to list what you did (buying the game from a store), what your problem is (CD Key in use) and what steps you have taken to remedy the situation (read the FAQs, spoken to your retailer)

A post on FSS forums will do you good. I havent played HG:L in about a month due to work, christmas shopping and the fact that I need to relax more and in different ways. I have never had a problem that wasnt fixed/resolved or a problem where I never received help, whether it be to calm me down or reassure me, by a post on their Forums.

Be civil, be polite, dont allow your frustrations to put foward strong opinions of the store in question and help will be forthcoming.

Also, you do have the telephone option. I prefer the internet solution but at least when talking to someone, you might get a solution in 60 seconds.

I'm not 100% sure, but I don't think they take back opened software anymore.

I'm not 100% sure, but I don't think they take back opened software anymore.
Not for a refund ... but they DO *exchange* defective SW for the exact same title
- if it has a bad key, it would be defective in my book :p

Unfortunately, they don't categorize bad CD Keys as defective. I had to get their manager out for that one.

Thanks for all the help.

EDIT: An online acquaintance from Diablo 2 LoD will sell me his HGL CD Key for some D2 items while I wait for my key from FSS. If he pulls through (trusted trader so far) and his key works, I can play with my buddy during my vacation.
