HELLBOY!!

I just saw the commercial for this. Looks pretty cool to me, although I know nothing about it...originally a comic book, right?

I really admire the character who play's hellboy. He's been in several french films I remember watching when I was younger. Over the years I'd see him in American films and tv shows which made confused as to know where he really came from and how he learned to speak french so well.

Ron Perlman.

Holy Sh!t!!!, Holy Sh!t!!!, Holy Sh!t!!!ONE

I peed!

One of my favorite series EVER!!!

If you haven't read the comic it's seriously one of the most intelligently written series in recent years. Mark Mignola is an excellent writer and artist. It's an homage to Lovecraft and all the horror writers of the twentieth century, incorporating a very Indian Jones feel. Really a good series, please for the love of Pete, go to your comic store and buy back issues, you won't be dissapointed.

I'm actually awaiting it quite eagerly...but these days, you can never tell about a movie simply from the trailer.

The story arc of the movie is the "Seeds of Destruction" story arc from the comic books. They just re-issued SoD in a trade paperback (they're re-issuing all of them). I have high hopes for this movie. The creator of Hellboy is working very closely with the director, and instead of doing "artistic reinterpretation," the director said they're actually using some of the comic panels as their story boards, and going for a direct re-creation of those events.

Is this a comic book? Otherwise there is no excuse for that title. What a fine way to push away people who are eve mildly sensitive to ridiculous names, like I am. But, if it's a comic book I've not heard of it. Prediction: Another box-office flop!

The art and costuming departments really got the look of the comic book down. And Ron Perlman is brilliant casting.
Amen to that. I became interested in the movie/comic book after I saw the first publicity shots. They REALLY nailed down Hellboy's look that was originated from the comic book. It's spooky.

Skoorb: Lighten up, bud. 😉

I saw a trailer for it somewhere... Looks cheesy and overly CG, but I'll also probably watch it (on DVD) if it gets a good review.
