I haven't drank a heine in years so I grabbed a sixer to compliment my huge bottle of reisling I'm drinking later.
Now I remember why I don't drink these things, its like drinking stomach acid, three drinks and my stomach is already churning. I usually drink Mich light, bud lite, with the occasional Mickey's or rolling rock thrown in.....anyway I've been to europe(on several occasions) and this is definitely not the best beer they have to offer. which makes it seem odd that Heine is basically the most popular European beer....just ranting on heine I guess

Heineken is a bland, insubstantial beer IMO, but it is head-and-shoulders better than any of the ones you normally drink.

Guinness > *, gives me horrendous gas though. Could scent-duel a skunk and win the day after downing a 6pack of 'em.

Guinness is good, but if you can find it Newcastle Brown is awesome. British import, and smooth as sh!t.

Go for the Australian beers! (No, NOT Foster's - no Aussie drinks that crap!)

Victoria Bitter
Toohey's New
Hahn Premium.

I haven't found anything that matches them.

This is JMO of Heineken, but it seems like it is the German beer for wannabe beer snobs. Just because it is made in Germany doesnt mean it is good. *cough*I-Drive*cough*.

You think it's for beer snobs because it's imported. Beer snobs don't drink Heineken; clueless poser dicks and fifteen year old kids do.

PBR is cheap, cheap, cheap and much better than Natty or the Beast. Bud Light is for chicks. I like a Rolling Rock or a Yuengling as they are fairly priced and fairly local. They don't need all the silly advertising with donkeys and beer presidents. A good pale ale like Sierra Nevada or Saranac does down nice once in a while too. Can't forget Newcastle, very smooth brown ale.
