Worst! I like this one too, although every single one of my friends hates it. IMHO, Radiohead is overrated, although they are good.

Ok, thier methods are accurate... Eminem got both the best AND worst album for the same album.

<< you like limp bizkit and you say radiohead is overrated?!? >>

Well, it's pretty easy to say they're overrated when they are number one. It's impossible to say Limp Bizkit is overrated because they were rated dead last. :p

I liked Limp Bizkit for 10 minutes.
Didn't think Kid A was good enough for top spot, but I knew it would get it anyway (The feedback paragraphs on Radiohead are pretty accurate to my own opinions)

Who Let The Dogs Out should be taken out in to the street and shot.

I see Creed took quite a beating, I kind of like them (even though their first album was far better than their last one)

I think by "Most likely to succeed in 2001", they mean with the upcoming album in April. It's not like Tool really succeeded in 2000, or 99, or 98, with no new music. Sure, they toured and everything, but I think the rating meant that their album was most likely to succeed, not just the band.

"Chocolate..." wasn't the WORST album last year, just a disappointment after "Significant Other".

Radiohead is extremely overrated. "Kid A" was alright, but definitely not the monumental achievement that their raving lunatic fans and drooling critics said it was.

I don't get what's so hot about Tool/APC that inspires the rabid Maynard cult.

Creed is suck.

My FAVORITE records last year (not presuming to call them best, just what I dug) were the Smashing Pumpkins' "Machina" records. I wish that the second one was commercially available so that I could have GOOD-sounding copies of the tunes.

IMO, Smashing Pumpkins have sucked out since Adore. They should have quit three years ago, right after Mellon Collie. This coming from someone who has followed them religiously since Gish.

I guess for some, no explanation is necessary. For others, none is possible :)

anyone who would vote EMINEM- The Marshall Mathers LP the 7th best album of the year has no credibility in my eyes.

harpomx- adore didn't suck, you just have no taste. Machina wasn't bad, but wasn't good either. Stand Inside Your Love was a great single though. Machina II was mostly crap (maybe its just the low quaility of the music) but did have some really great songs at the same time (Blissed and Gone being one of my favs).

the difference between limp-bizkit and radiohead are huge, there is no comparison in my book. LB and Fred "the fatass" Durst are just in it for the money... I like to refer to bands like LB as "no-talent assclowns." They don't care about making ground breaking music, they just want somethin' that kids with no since of self can go "rollin'" to. On the other hand you have musical geniuses in radiohead, who are constantly going against the grain of music and creating beautiful rythmes like those in OK Computer and Kid A. Radiohead are a talented group of individuals who like making the statement that you can be yourself, and create music that goes against the norm and still be successful. They have been doing this for nearly ten years now, and will be at it a lot longer if they want to.

If you ask anyone who has any say in the music industry, critics and artists alike you will find a lot more radiohead fans then you will limp-bizkit fans. but on the other end of the spectrum if you ask the troubled youth of america it will be the other way around... The bottom line is, money hungry bands may make money, but not for long.

BTW, LB was also voted worst live act, worst artist, and worst album in the january issue of Alternative Press by it's readers. You can find it at your news stands or go to alternativepress.com for more details.

ltk, I have taste, just not tastes similar to yours. I knew you'd have something to say about that remark, though. It took you longer to post than I expected ;)

Hey!!! I would be offended by that if you weren't right. Yeah Adore wasn't great, but it had a few good songs on it that made it worth getting.

harpomx, nice magdalena quote. to those who don't understand the tool and apc fans, you obviously just don't like thought provoking lyrics and music from maynard james keenan and the likes. musically tool and apc are leeps and bounds ahead of the "new rap crap" of today. Must eveyone copy rage against the machine and korn?

I'm a huge fan of Limp Bizkit, you all are intitled to your opinion, CSATHDFW was one of the fastest selling albums of all time, and it sold how many over platinum records? it may have been a sucky album, but it sold. Fred Durst (as much as I hate him, but the rest of the band is cool), he knows the market, the guy is F*ckin' smart as all hell... you can be a fan of hip hop or alternative and like Limp's stuff because both of it's on their albums (or not like it at all). I have to admit that CSATHDFW wasn't a very good album, they could have done allot better, the proof is in their previous two albums... Limp Bizkit isn't done they just need to take more time to write their music... they've been trying to produce an album every year... But anyway you say it, the album was a success, they went X platinum and got allot of money from it... wether it sucked or not is irrelivant for the band.

you cannot determine a bands talent on how much they sell... Look at britney. Limp Bizkit isnt even half as talented as most bands out there, shows you what the masses are.
