Man my tbred-b takes a beating, but after nearly three years of running at these temps i have had no stability problems :Q

It was 38'C outside the last couple of days & with no AC i suspect ambient in here was in the mid 30's at least...

I suspect the 'auto' setting is 80'C, since the last time it shut down when i got to the BIOS it was reading 76'C, but since i set it to 90'C it's all good

Stock cooler, 2.1Ghz tbred-b (actually a xp2000+ @stock), 1.8vcore on my ASUS A7V8X. Been running @those settings the whole time i've had it

Rock solid, prime stable too which amazes me, & i've never had a crash gaming/encoding for hours on end...

i do burn my fingers on the hsf & passive northbridge when it's been playing FEAR for a few hours...

actually most of the bartons and tb's tend to overheat a lot. The last 3 that i got to tinker with, all came in with shut down problems because of overheating. my recomendation is find a cpu shim for that cpu. It will help with cooling, and get a better hsf then the stock one.

Just make sure the heatsink does not accidently fall off or otherwise have a fire extinguesher close by

this is so true!! there used to be a video on tomshardware of a AMD Without its cooler, getting up to 400 degrees C!! it would litterally melt right though the mobo. :X

Meh. mine idles at 42 C and rarely goes about 51.
