Heh: Wife's simple pound cake won a baking contest at my job

My job had a bake-off today at work benefiting the United Way. My wife was going to make a rum cake last night but realized she didn't have enough sugar. So, she got up early this morning and baked a simple pound cake. This ended up beating fancier deserts like cheesecakes chocolate something or other and a mocha what's it cake (can't remember the multiple word names of these deserts).

The funny thing was, she didn't even want me to enter it. She thought it tasted OK but it wasn't one of her better cakes in her opinion.

Does your employer force you to donate through your paycheck and do all but make your life a living hell if you don't?

I remember when mine did... I think it held me back a promotion or two, since I never would signup for the per-pay donation.
