Not really, as I have only posted in P&N only a couple of times... I seem to have gotten some kind of reputation that I wasn't aware of...

Not a reputation really. More like a 'following'. Imagine ... George Castanza actually posting on AT. 🙂

Thought I heard Klixxer mutter 'Can't - stand - ya' under his breath.... 😀

If you ever grow old enough you'll regret that statement, at this point, you aren't big enough for me to spank, but one day.

It's not YOU i have a problem with, it's the SMELL.
I am probably older than you... and you will never be man enough to raise your hand to me... so keep your fantasies of spanking me to yourself... 😀

*sigh* what's with you ATPN'rs and your lousy comebacks, i mean, you HAVE to have more with than THAT?

*won't be man enough* and that is what you consider a good comeback, you are pathetic.

Sorry, I can't really get too excited at your trolling... I love germans, but the dichotomy of unification you present me with, both a deep seated feeling of inferiority of growing up in the East, and the self appointed sense of superiority from the West that emanates from some of your previous postings, leave me both scratching my head and not really caring at the same time

I do find it amusing that Kerry tried to use 4 members of the armed services as his only little photo oppourtunity and it flopped... thats my only agenda here...

Sadly, if a Liberal member of this board (and there are lots and lots of 'em) feels like you are posting anything against Kerry, you will be labeled for life as a Conservative. Kind of like wearing a scarlet letter. Sad. But, that's how things have been going in this section lately.

See, there was a worthy comeback, and you really built that one up, nice.

Now you only have one problem, i am not originally from the West, i am from Finland which would be considered more east than wes (FYI).

And this was in NO way an attack on your ethnicity (gotta write that or canoshit will try to use this post) i think you know that too so i do not understand why you even brout it up.

I hope you don't seriously think that i somehow feel that i am superior to you becaue of where we grew up.

I can assure you that i do not, and since i have the background i have, this is kinda important to me.

Is this a parody? 😛

Nah it's a Buck_Naked thread, same thing i guess, Riprorin will repost it within 24h too.

Boring, sure, but what do you expect?

err... Whats your point?

Don't mind them. They will never believe anything, no matter where it comes from, if it makes Kerry look bad. That is just the way they are. Sad, really.

Hrmm, as for me, I just don't believe that any of our fine Marines would say those things and then tell a newspaper about it.

"He imposed on us and I disagree with him coming over here shaking our hands," one Marine said, adding, "I'm 100 percent against [him]."

What a moron marine. Being in the service does not make you special, get over yourself.

I would say he might seem special to you if you said that to his face. 😉

How could they belive they are doing the right thing in iraq?

Probably because they see the effects of what they're doing first hand. You on the other hand get to see what the media wants you to see... and yes, this applies to both supposed 'liberal' and 'conservative' sources.

Do you happen to know anyone in the military who is or was in Iraq? If so, ask them about the people in general. See if their description of the people and how they feel is the same as the one that we get to hear about on a daily basis.

Why? I couldn't care less about this article or that paper. 😛

It has been my experience that military people, by and large, support Bush. I have no idea why, he sends them into unnecessary danger and jacks their pay and benefits at the same time.

Military brainwash helps.

This Marine squandered an opportunity to respectfully give his opinion on current Military issues with a man who may be president someday.

Where I come from I love when politicians with whom I disagree talk to me. I give them a sum up of the reasons I disagree with their platform, then wish them luck on their campaign. I would kill for an opportunity to politely challenge a Prime Ministerial candidate on their policies in front of a camera.

Not that I have any military connection or experience, but I imagine that's pretty much against any standards of decorum that the soldiers are held to. The only reason they did say anything was because the reporter (understandably) was interested in getting their opinion of Kerry, given that the role of the military may play a major role in the election. They really would have been better off to stay quiet to the reporters too, and my guess is that they didn't give their names because they didn't want to be disciplined.

But what are the protocols for speaking out for/against the administration with the press?

Don't ask and they won't tell?

The real reason for the current Iraq war is still unknown, isn't it?

If there are standing orders to not comment publicly about the war, then they shouldn't have said anything. If they open their mouths at all, they should do it to his face.

Edit: I know there are some restrictions on citizenship when you serve in the military. Does that include self-expression?

Because you don't think it is true/credible, right?

I see none, but i think Don_Vito is the man to ask regarding this, so i'll hold off on any kind of statements that he knows better than me.

Funny - the impresion I got was that they had not been to Iraq
Quote:
A sergeant with 10 years of service under his belt said, "I speak for all of us. We think that we are doing the right thing in Iraq," before saying he is to be deployed there in a few weeks and is "eager" to go and serve.

You only realize the bad side of war once you've been there. Bet they'll be singing a different tune after they've spent a year there.

Now that's a Riprorin post! Only it'd be from seven years ago and Kerry would have never known they were in the Wendy's to begin with, not that THAT would be spelled out in the obscure, uncited opinion piece. 😛
