The wife and kids went to bed. The dogs disapeared who knows where and it is suddenly quiet in here.

My damn computer sounds like a wind tunnel.

All hail AMD and their hot processors.

Let's not forget to mention IBM and their HDD's that crash if they aren't actively cooled.

Ah, that's what my computer room sounds like, but I like whirring noises... I can't go to sleep without my ceiling fan going at full speed (even when it's winter out and it's cold at night)

I'm not really complaining. It's just that I don't notice the noise until the house gets quiet.

What's reallly weird is when I get up at about 2:00a.m. to wander areound the house. I get bored and fire up the rig and holy sh!t I think I'm going to wake up the whole neighborhood.

Ah well, it does it's job well, though.

Really? Is that what that foggy mist rising from the back of my computer is? I always thought it was dust being sucked in through the front and being exhausted from the back.

Let me see what happens if I stick my finger into it..........it.....it..it.it.iiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiIEEEEAauuuuuuuuughhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!

Big whoop. I've got a P4 2.4B, an XP 1900+, and a small fan going to keep ME cool. My spare bedroom . . .err. . . computer lab . . . sounds like an airport. :p

Anyhoo, yeah, what's really weird is once you get used to it, and then you turn it off... It sounds so deathly quiet it's kind of scary.
