I had a hard time excluding socket AM4 from this list, but technically it is not HEDT (even though the Summit Ridge 8C/16T CPU essentially is a HEDT type CPU).

My TR4 and Ryzen and 4790K systems all have a purpose, but the one I spend the most time on is my 3930k. Its almost a crap shoot, but its just the most convenient to use physically. I probably don't count as I have at least one of everything in that list except socket 2066. The rest are all DC crunchers.

Just built an x99 (6850k) machine

Its nice, but its just a computer, the label is meaningless. Especially with 6/8 cores available on mainstream platforms... HEDT isn't a meaningful term unless you can use 10+ cores or need 10 SATA ports for some reason. Good for my E-Peen I guess.

I've just started building an x299 system, with a 7940X that should arrive next week.

This is gonna replace my work setup which currently are two old Xeon servers (database and file server), and I'll also get rid of my current main workstation which is a 6700K. Replacing 3 systems with 1, I'm really looking forwards to the noise and power reductions!

Really wanted to go with a Threadripper, but Handbrake seems to really like highly clocked Intels and that's one of my main workloads so nope. Doing much more HEVC than H.264 these days (4k videos), and my trusty 6700K just feels like dying when doing HEVC. :)
