Heavy Gear

ah, the bastardized leinos/valken/votoms knockoff franchise.

i remember watching the CG tv series and thinking these are the stupidest pilots in the world.

i wonder which unlicenced mecha illustration stealing boardgame cum videogame franchise will show up next on kickstarter.

Tell us how you really feel.

i played the shit out of HG1. HG2 was wayyyy more complex so I never quite figured out what was good/bad. always preferred HG to MW even though they are very similar games.

I enjoyed HG1, never really played 2.

HG was more 'actiony' imo than MW, I preferred HG over MW as well.

I had never heard of Heavy Gear until I came across the second game in a used book/music/etc shop a few years ago. I still had a WinXP partition so I was able to try it out on there and it certainly was intriguing despite being a decade old when I first played it.

Played both HG's and watched the TV series as a kid.

Mechwarrior eats it for breakfast but HG is one of my favourite actiony robot games.

Should have both on my shelf still.

Along with the other one where you dropped energy towers to continue powering your robot as you walked along the terrain.

Loved that game back in the day.
Trying to remember if I played that using Diamond Stealth s3 card or Nvidia mx200.

it was sort of like the serious sam of mech games. Good game, not great. Also, it was one of those games that was always bundled with shit so pretty much everyone had it.
