I cast my vote for Erie Pa, You need a tetnus shot just to drive down many of its streets, because of the rusting rubble of old factories... like Bucyrus Erie...

I'm not too fond of south florida (miami-dade area), though I love love love Tampa. However, there is some great diving there.

Never been to merced... must reserve judgement.
