For the sake of this poll assuming there is a Heaven/Hell-based Afterlife for all, where do you think you're headed...

...Heaven or Hell?

<- Hell

If a person really thinks they'd go to hell why are they living that way? I don't believe in either one but I live my life such that if there is both I'd be more likely to get the heaven choice.

It'd be helpful to see what people think the criteria is to go to heaven or hell. I voted heaven, and my criteria is having a relationship with Jesus Christ, not lifestyle. (IMO, trying to live a good life automatically follows the relationship)

Hell's too good for me. I'm headed to New Jersey where all of my psychotic customers call from.

Ditto. I think that Jesus Christ is the "way, the Truth, and the Life", simple as that.

Actually, if you don't believe in Heaven, you don't believe in God. And if you don't believe in God, guess where you're going? (supposedly) :D

I don't believe in Heaven or Hell. I don't believe in God. But I do believe that if there is a Heaven, I am going to it. This is because I work hard, and have some sucess, at being a good person.

This whole 'heaven' & 'hell' idea is merely a form of punishment. Those who obey the rules are rewarded, those who do not obey the rules are punished.

Who says that the rules are just and fair? Something of which the existance can not be proven? Who says that punishment IS justice?

Punishment is merely the embodiment of the hopelessness of those who created the rules, because they fail to understand why people disobey these rules.

My answer therefore should be 'neither'.

I dont believe in either, but if they do exist, I am probably going, and hope I go, to Hell. Probably because I dont believe in any religion (automatically a one-way ticket to hell in most religions), and I'd want to because I'm sorta demonic. Angels and eternal bliss makes me sick. Fire and brimstone and evilness is so warm and cozy. :)

I love thw whole irony of it all: if you dont believe in Hell, then you dont follow the rules of religion, therefore you are going to hell, even though, and becuase, you dont believe in it. Ahh I love religion.

You need a third option -- None of the above. I believe we make our own heaven or hell right here in this lifetime. With few exceptions, and within a range of values, similar precepts of right and wrong have historically existed in totally unrelated cultures throughout the world. If more people spent more time trying to get it right in this life, it really woudn't matter if there is any reward or punishment in some afterlife that may or may not exist.

Regardless of what exists after this life, it would certainly allow more people to enjoy a better life, with more friends, in the existence we share here and now. :)

I don't know, but what I do know is this: It's just a matter of time before LinuxBoy pops in and posts some philosophy so complex, only he will understand it.

I dunno, Pav (linuxboy) tends to post where he's inspired to post, no matter how much the ATOT masses want to see him comment on one thing or another.
