I assume that if you have a profile registered that you can link it there. It isn't for your score, but for your heat nickname.

Yep. It's like a Yahoo! email account, go to heatware.com and register for an account.

ok, another question about heatware.

i don't have any heatware and i have a few things for sale. someone wants to buy 2 of my items and he has 19 positive and no bad or neutral heatware. he wants me to ship 1st before paying.

whats the minimum heatware the buyer should have before shipping before payment?
honestly, i really don't feel comfortable doing that. i showed him my ebay feedback (which is 100% positive). i sent him a message with my ebay account as proof. he says ebay feedback means nothing on this forum.

as my 1st sale here, i don't want to get screwed. his heatware should be fine since its all positive i guess.

most established buyers on here are going to ask you to ship first if you don't have any heat. it keeps them from getting trolled. ebay doesn't really mean much here as well with most people. however this is a judgement call. if you don't feel right doing the deal by all means don't do it. 19 heat is kinda borderline for me, i might do it after looking at his/her heat and seeing what kind of deals he/she has done. usually i look for at least 10 positive with no negative/neutral and then check up on their feedback to see who they've traded with.

I dont ship first. That is my choice and my decision. If someone doesnt want to trade with me because of it, that is their choice. But... someone with 50+ heat asking me to ship first is a bit different than someone with under 10 or so.

fisher is absolutely correct... check the heatware to see who the buyer traded with. also check to see if they sold anything or just bought. if someone else shipped to him first and was paid immediately, that is a good sign of trust.

but at the end of the day... it is totally up to you on whether or not you feel comfortable shipping first. dont let anyone bully you or tell you that it is manditory... but be prepared that some might not take the chance on a new seller.

good luck!
:)

thanks for the help guys. i did go and look at this person's individual transactions on heat and other people have sent to him 1st and got immediate payment so i decided to go ahead and deal with him.

in the end i took a bunch of the stuff i was selling off the FS/FT forum and put it on Ebay. I just feel safer that way.
