I am shipping an item to this guy whose heatware id and anandtech id are the same. He has all positive remarks. Is it safe to send to him?

goods are worth $650.
he looks like a nice guy.
he has 13 positive evals.

I just wanted to know if I am dealing with the same guy who has positive evals. His anandtech ID and heatware ID are same. He is the same person, right?

With it being that much, I would definitely follow up with a couple of the people that have left him positive heatware evals.

That is a loaded question. Every time you deal with someone over the internet and buy or sell sight-unseen, you both take risks regardless of who ships first.

There are a number of ways to hedge that risk:

1) Use some sort of buying/selling protection (Credit Cards, Escrow, Money Orders, etc...)
2) Use some sort of history tracker (heatware, ebay feedbacks, etc...)
3) Vary the order of ship/paying based on amount of history and referrals.
4) Make multiple payments for large orders and potentially multiple shipments.
5) Get to know the person on the other end and use a gut feel determination.

Ultimately, though there are always risks. 13 heatware means nothing unless you have established a gut feel for that person. If your gut feel says go for it, then give it a shot. If your gut feels says slow down, then you may want to protect yourself a little. If your gut feel is even more negative, then I wouldn't do the deal.

You might as well post his Anandtech ID or Heatware ID. Chances are one of us might have done business with him before. Or contact one of those people that left him the feedback on Heatware.

I'd make sure that on top of the IDs matching, that the emails match, too. Also, look at his evals and then look at the evals of the people who left those evals -- I get a little anxious when some guy's last several evals are from users with no evals themselves (not even from the person you're currently talking to) and have free email addresses.

For $650, I'd definitely take the time to dig a little.

because of the $ amount, do two things

1- make sure you get a phone # and call him
2 - contact a couple of the heatware reviews and verify the address/info about the person
