Heatsinks for memory

HI.
Is good to install aluminum heatsinks for the memory DDR ( Corsair Value Select DDR 400 VS1512mb400 C3) although don't be made overcloking ?

Does the aluminum heatsink really lower the temperature of the memoirs?
Thank you.

You don't need to install heatspreaders on your ram, especially not CVS and if you're not overclocking it. Heatspreaders in most cases dont' lower temps much, they just look pretty. Their main purpose is to spread out the heat so that if one chip is hotter than the rest the temps will even out.

Memory heat spreaders a waste of money...even if over clocking!!

Most hardcore over clockers have a seperate fan blowing on the memory.

Becuase all a heat spreader does is spread the heat over the memory--it does nothing to get rif of the heat!!

What about water cooling the memory? is that feasible? When I had active cooling on my ram, I was able to OC better IMO. I think it would rock if you could water cool your ram.

Foolish thinking.

ANY added surface area will increase heat dissipation. Although might not decrease temps by a huge amount, aluminum with 2x the area is going to do a better job at moving heat away than a bunch of very small ram chips. 5c is still 5c. I use em, and they work fine.
