Hi guys, I need a new heatsink to go with this combo Gigabyte GA-EP45-UD3R mobo and a Intel Q9550 cpu.

It seems the Megahalem is popular - http://www.sidewindercomputers.com/prmeforinso7.html

I also saw this Noctua recommended in another post.

How about this one also?

I know the Megahalem is rated very high but doesn't a heatsink w\ a fan mounted on the side cool better than w\out a fan like the Mega?

Thx for the advice.

Eh, heatsinks with 92mm fans are typically noisy and really aren't my type of thing. If you're going to get something like a Q9550, go for something in the same size category as the Megahalem which takes 120mm fans. I would recommend some of the heatsinks from Noctua, OCZ, and Xigmatek in the 120mm category.
