Heatsink Temp Comparisons...

Right now I have an bluebird 1000@1100 with a c-orb and the temp reading is around 33 celsius. I want to switch to an taisol and up it to at least 1200Mhz (I tried it it already but it locked up in windows because it overheated while booting). What kinda temp reading could I expect. I'm running a kt7-raid with the case open and get case temp of 24 celsius. Anyone?

Well, first off, your temps are horribly off. There is absolutely no way that the a c-orb can handle the heat off a 1100mhz chip at 33C(more like 70C). see this page for more info: Orbs versus OThers: Diode versus Socket-Thermistor Tests.

secondly, depending on which taisol you upgrdae to, you might not read a lower temp. Keep in mind, a properly installed taisol of any type will outperform the orb. But whether the thermistor reads teh temp change is another issue(see sig for more details).
