Is it safe to remove the heatsink that came with the Dell system?
I am afraid to do so because i know they use a thermal tape on the PIII to attach
the heatsink to the chip. and i know its a pain in the butt to get that tape cleaned off.
Don't wanna damage the chip in the process. The reason is i wanna
use the ALPHA heat sink on the chip not the generic heatsink that comes with the
PIII. or is the generic heatsink cool enough.

Intel Pentium III. I guess they put the heatsink that comes in the retail box.
I have the ALPHAP3125 heatsink. that i want to put on it.
I am just worried about the thermal tape they put on the bottom of the heatsink to put
the heatsink on. Is that a pain in the butt to move off the CPU?.
how hard is that thermal tape to remove off of the SLOT1 PENTIUM III CPU??
I want to be able to remove that thermal tape off the cpu without damaging it.

the system is the dell DIMENSION 4100

thanks.... any input would be appreciated.
