I have a CNPS-7000A on my Winchester 3200+. My HTPC is getting a new mb/cpu combo from Newegg (3400+ and Biostar NF325-A7). I don't know if I have the remaining mounting hardware for the Zalman since I've had it over 2 1/2 years. Does it use the same hardware to mount it to the new mb/cpu combo? If not, what's a cheap heatsink I can use for the new setup? It won't be overclocked. I have a boatload of 80mm L1as that I can use so it doesn't need to come with a fan unless it takes a size other than 80mm. If I can use the old Zalman on the new mb/cpu combo, what's a good, quiet HSF that I can use for my Winny? It doesn't have to be dirt cheap. Quiet is the name of the game.

ARCTIC COOLING Freezer 64 Pro Cooling Fan with Heatsink

For either system. 24 bucks and free shipping. Just picked one up myself.....a little bit of a PITA to install but it uses the standard/stock A64 mounting bracket and it's definitely whisper quiet...and cool.

Get a S939 X2 4200+ @2.52 @ 1.47volts and idling at 32C loading at 42C

I ordered one and for the averge CPU, you would get a quiet PC no more no less! I do not believe the extra cooling would provide a "safety" benefit for the CPU even when the CPU is OC by 20% at stock voltage and cooling the CPU is all the time within normal temprature spec. Spending extra $50 or even hundreds of dollars ( on fancy colling) is just waste of money

What do you recommend? I o/c my Winchester but the HTPC will be run at stock speed. I appreciate more efficient cooling for this PC especially since it's housed inside my home theater stand where there is no airflow. I've cooked my 1700+ to the point of shutting down in the summer.
