Hello,

I have Duron 600 and got some heatsink from 3dcool.com , now I have 40C temp on my cpu and 22C System Temp ... which heatsink should I buy for overclocking, because as I think, 40C is too much without overclocking...

thanks,
bye.

What mb are you using? IF you're using an a7v, then the temps are probably okay.

if you're using a kt7, they're a bit high.

ANY other mb, and they're probably too high as well.

Mike
As a note, 50C + Readings, and 60C plus core temps are acceptable

its unlikely that it is broken. Try Overclocking it a bit, and see what kind of overclocked temps you get.

anton, the fop-32 is a great HSF for the duron. I saw it somewhere online for 18 dollars.

How are you reading the temp? What KT7 bios are you using?

Maximum read temp for a KT7, for me personally, would be around 60C.

i've got a Duron 700@936 (104x9) and a FOP32-1 on a kt7, and atm i'm sitting with system temp at 28oC, and core temp at 35oC. whilst running seti@home, core temp climbs to about 53-55oC.

ConfusedBW,

First off, those aren't core temps. Those are underneath-cpu temps.

secondly, are you using thermal grease, or the default thermal pad?

thirdly, your temps are in the "reasonable" range, and there should be no problems.
