wow,

thx for all the informative replies! nice healthy debate.

but its interesting that most guys mention, they're running their CPU fans at full blast, whereas, my fans are running only at a relatively paltry 4500 rpm / 21 CFM.

in my case, wouldnt then it be better to pull away the hot air, rather than gently blow onto more hot air from the ambient case temp? not that its terribly hot inside, but still just my random thought.

Try it both ways, run the same stress test, and compare temps then you'll know ethter pushing or pulling is a better solution for you ;) My money's on pushing with the SK6+

Joker, in my experience, the easiest way to answer the blow/suck question for your situation is to just try it out both ways.
and by the way, I'm not running any fan anywhere near full blast :)

The food analogy is not really applicable. It just gets silly when I try to break it down logically.
But the reason you blow on it is because you can direct the air specifically over the soup. (comparable to blowing into the HS with no ducting)
But in fact, if you could force all of the the air you suck to go directly over the soup, that would cool it far better (comparable to an intake duct).
But see how silly this is getting? Someone's gotta have a better analogy :D
but we don't really need analogies, its kind of simple. whatever method gets the coolest air over the most area of heatsink will cool the best.
