I want a good heatsink and fan (but not too loud!!). I'm willing to spend a little more for something good. It'll be for an athlon barton core and will prob be o/c a bit. The case will have an intake and outtake fan.

Second the Thermalright recommendation. I would recommend the SLK-800 (on the high end) or the AX-7 (slightly cheaper)... and buy a couple different fans. At stock speeds, a Panaflo L1A would be enough. :)

Get the SLK-800 if you can afford it, or get the SK-7, which is almost as good, for less dough if you don't plan on O/C'ing. Look for any old fan that has decent air flow ~30 CFM without too much noise <35 dB. Start looking at SVC.com for the HS & fans. I've gotten a bunch of these cheapies that work great, but their out of stock right now :(

Believe it or not the new HS from Thermatake, the Silentboost is pretty nice and it's performing great on my XP2600. 2600 rpms at 21db is silent. I paid 30 bulks for it at Fry's.
