Heater help

Have my heat set at 70 on auto. Has been maintaining temp all day, but now all of a sudden the temp is at 65 (dropping quickly) and the unit is blowing cold air. Pilot is lit, but burners are not kicking on. What can I do to get the unit to blow hot air?

Is it gas? Did you hit the emergency off switch?

It is gas and hot water heater (also gas) is working fine.

Save your life, not your money. Call an expert. Had almost the same thing happen here this Fall. It was the heat exchanger and it was leaking CO into the system. The system shut down and I started to replace the obviously failing part. That would have been a very bad mistake! The system would have started working again, but pumping CO into the environment. Probably wouldn't have killed us, but?
