Heat Concerns

I know this question has been asked too many times, but I have never been able to read a really straight forward answer to this question. I have a 1GHz AMD Athlon Tbird in my rig and with the case closed I get a temp of 47 degrees celcius when just starting the computer, 49 on idle after the computer has been on for awhile and around 52 when playing games or doing intensive work on my computer. Now I know that some of the people that have asked this question had slightly slower processors, please not im not tryin to show some "machoism", brag, or put down anybodies computer, but I have never seen anybody ask about a 1GHz computer. Are these temperatures normal for my computer. Anybody else got a computer like this and check what kind of temps they get. Oh yeah, i have an Asus A7V and also I taped my thermal probe to my cpu with electrical tape cause i lost the original tape that came with the probe. Maybe my high temps maybe caused by my choice of tape maybe not. Anyway some of your insight into my problem would be greatly appreciated

What kind of HS/F do you have, case fans? I was getting those temps at 1GHz when I had a Vantec so I'd say those are fine if you're using that HS/F, but I'm down to 44-46C with an Alpha at 1162. I have 5 case fans so that could also contribute. 🙂

I have an Alpha PAL6035 with a Delta fan on top, i have 1 80mm fan in front, 3 40mm fans and a slot cooler in back, and a 2coopc plus in between. That's why i am surprised at my high temps. I thought that i had enough to cool my cpu to atleast below 45 degrees.
