heat affect FLOP performance?

I was reading an old GF2 GTS O/C article and it said that at some point the O/C'ed GPU loses efficiency cuz its simply to hot to operate properly.... is this the same case with CPU O/C? cuz i change my CPU speed almost daily because i dont have A/C to regulate temperature.... and i was wondering if keeping it cooler at a lower speed would infact speed up my WU time... i average about 5 hours and 10 mins a WU and i keep the speeds from aroun 1460mhz to 1533mhz

I think as long as it's stable and you don't get a rash of WU's done it 0 - 1 seconds then you should clock as fast as you can with the highest fsb and mem timings possible. Just my humble opinion of course! 😉

how would i adjust mem timings on Mushkin PC2400 msi k7 master mobo

Also... the majority of speed increase comes from changing my clock multiplyer from 10 to 11... should i try and just max out fsb on 10x mulitplier?

im running cli, but this is the only comp i have so i have to run AIM and web browser and Word processing and winamp all the time(in college) but i have seti ever running in background

yea try and max out the FSB as far as possible and put the mem cas timings down as low as they will go that should make it a little faster

Hope it works 🙂
