I missed lethal yesterday...I had 4 minions with 10 damages total...plus a hellfire in hand...the priest was at 13 health and no taunts.

I don't know what happened but I poped Hellfire BEFORE attacking with my minions, killing 3 of them...I was bashing my head on my desk until my gf came to see me and wipe the blood off the floor...

What a stupid move...lol

I don't know what the freaking F is happening since september but i'm playing like a complete moronic newb...can't play more than 3-4 games in a row before anger start to fill my entire body and mind. Depressing...

I have been playing my ramp druid a lot lately. I am still surprised how well it has been working. Now grant it, a lot has been card draw. Last night, I was playing against a rogue, who pulled out the massive zoo combo of the 2/2 that combo spawns a 2/1. On like turn 5 he played the coin, then that for a 2/2 + 2/1, played a second 2/2 + 2/1, played the return a minion costs 2 less, played the 2/2 + 2/1 again, and played a second return minion, and played the 2/2 + 2/1 again. Giving him 4 2/1's and 2 2/2's on the board, while I had nothing up (killed his last minion with my minion the last round to prevent any combo +5 damage nuts from occurring this round). Unfortunately for him, I said "well played" and then used the 5 cost choose 1 5 damage one minion or 2 damage all minions, and wiped the board (I only have 1 of those in my deck and happened to have it in my hand). If I had my sea giants in my hand I would have plopped one of them down first, but I didn't.

He used his assassinates on my 4/4 + charge or +2 health and taunt cards. That was when I started getting out the 8/8 taunts, sea giants and Rag, at which point he quit when I had those 3 on the board, with a yeti between rag and the other 8/8's (to prevent any kind of attack minions to the sides of it from killing him).

We all do things like that from time to time. I find it happens when you just get a bit too excited over finding something nifty that you forget the proper play order. Do you find that you mess up when you play too quickly?

Sounds like he fell into one of the newbie Hearthstone traps. While it sounds really fun to flood the board with those minions, you really have to keep in mind what you're facing. To be fair, Starfall isn't that common in constructed, but Swipe is very common, and that could kill everything but a single 2/2. Sure, doing a move like that could give you a fairly silly win, but those odds are pretty bad. Also, given the card investment, he completely destroyed his momentum.

In regard to the Assassination, I've seen other Rogues blow that too early as well. Newer players seem to be too afraid of getting hit, and they'll just use removal on whatever early minion that seems dangerous.

In fact, since septembre I decided to try and play more slowly and think things though a bit more. That is when I started losing more than usual...

Before I only played what I thought was the best using "instinct" and feeling. Now that I start thinking things through I get bashed in the face bad.

I'm not a thinker, i'm a doer guy...I need to get back to basic and do stuff.

Or anyone (*cough* Priest) can Pyro into shield or something and clear that shit for cheap. Unstable Ghoul would also be a bad time.
 
This morning I played my 2 mana minion warlock deck (had that as the daily), and got the perfect draw (I went second, but got both knife throwers, and both murlock summoners (or whatever it is that is the one that battlecries in a second 1/1 murlock). I was playing against a shaman. He didn't do anything first turn, so I popped coin and played first knife thrower (I drew the abusive sargent 2/1 +2 attack for friendly minion this turn). He spams his hero power which popped the 1/1. I draw the timber wolf (2/2 +1 damage to adjacent minions) and play my second knife thrower with the first one killing the 1/1 and face smack the shaman for 3 damage. He spams his hero power again and gets the healing totem. I draw a leper gnome and play one of the murlocks and the sargent, the two knife throwers kill the totem and do 4 damage with knives to the Shaman, and I then do 8 more damage from direct attacks (so he is already down to 15 health on turn 3). He plays a tassdinga (3/5+taunt). I get another leper gnome on the draw, and play the second murlock, and one of the leper gnomes, with the knife throwers doing 4 damage to the taunt and 2 damage to the Shaman. I use the 1/1 murlock to kill the last hitpoint on the taunt, play the second leper gnome (now that I have room on the table) doing 2 from knives and do 8 damage to the Shaman with the minions, leaving him with 3 health (with 2 leper gnomes out that will do 4 damage when they die). He finally draws the card I am assuming he was hoping for which was the do 2-3 damage +2 overload, but that kills the leper gnomes which kill him, so I didn't even make it to turn 5.

How did he play a shield master on turn 3 if he went first as a shaman?

I am dusting everything except for the regular epic (as I only had one blood knight in my collection). 570 dust for me.... Now to figure out what legendary to get.

I have the following:
Rag
Ysera
Cairne Bloodhoof
Deathwing

I think it is a toss up between Sylvanas, Black Knight, and Alexstrasza.

Ok, so you guys here convinced me on Sylvanas. That card seems a little more useful than the black knight, and is almost required for a couple decks out there.
 
Had a friend over this weekend while working on a few of his computers. While reloading the OS and setting them up, I was playing HS while he was watching. He got to watch 2 arena runs I did and was basically amazed at how piss poor my luck with this game is. First arena run I get to choose between shaman, warlock, and priest. Chose the shaman obviously. I actually had an OK draft, something I consider decent. Was using as always the tier lists to help pick and had him help me decide between a few close choices. Even then, I didn't have that great of pick. Not one lightning storm offered. Not one feral wolf draw offered. I did get a decent amount of DD with lightning bolts, forked lightning, and lava bursts and some OK minions. Also have 3 rock biters and a couple of hexes. So I went with that. I had a decent amount of single clears with the deck at least. No epics, and only the minimum rares offered.

So first matchup, I went against a hunter that looked to have a purely constructed deck with 3 legendaries played. I was crushed to say the least. My friend was like WTF was that shit? I was basically saying, this is more normal for me than not. He didn't believe it. Next I went against a mage that also had basically what looked like a constructed secret deck. Throwing out mad scientists, arcanists, duplicates, counter spells, and then lots of DD. Again crushed. So I'm sitting at 2 losses in a row. Next one I went against some crappy cleric that I steam rolled. I went against a paladin that had a damn good deck, I just got lucky with a frost elemental that I was able to windfury and toss on 3 rock biters to smash him down in a turn. The paladin was at full health and I was down to 8, but managed to clear his side barely and get the frost elemental out without him clearing it on his turn or putting down a taunt. He did humility it though, but a 5/1 frost element pumped to a 14/1 with windfury is going to crush 🙂 Took a lightning bolt to finish him

I was 2/2 and then went against up against what amounted to another handlock warlock setup. First turn was a wait, then a tap, tap, then a twilight drake. Then another twilight drake. Then an ancient watcher that he blows with shadowflame. Then a cairne. Then the elite tauren chieftan (yah that was a weird one). I got the deal 5 damage draw a card as my power cord allowing me to kill the chieftan while he got the fill the board with murlocs card. Then he black knights my taunter I put up. Then siphon souls my next two big drops. Then alexstraza's my health. I clear alex with a hex and proceed to finally pound on him a little. Which comes out molten giant one. Face manip on it with an argus defender. A molten again on the next turn with a seagiant.

All the while my friend is going HOLY FUCKING SHIT!!!!! As I said this is basically my second encounter with this bullshit of a fully made handlock deck in constructed arena. Needless to say, I was pounded down after that last play by the giants.

So I ended up 2/3 with that shaman deck. With only the cleric I played against having anything resembling an actual arena deck I tend to draft.


So next arena I did I have a choice between warlock, priest, and warrior. Yah the three most common I get to pick from on most of my arena runs. My friend was like wtf??? Unfortunately, my choices for this deck were shit. My rares were like mana addict, enraged chicken, and light warden first offering. Alarm-o-bot, Ancient Watcher, Coldlight oracle second offering. Coldlight oracle, mana addict, and Secret Keeper third offering. I'm not joking. I did get offered 2 siphon souls which was interesting. But those two, with a soul fire, and one shadow bolt were the only spells I was offered. Everything else was minions. Most of which was basically offerings like Wisp, Silverback, and Oasis Snapjaw. I got only a few "good" common cards like a raptor and spellbreaker. Everything else offered for commons were minions on the below average or bad category from the tier lists.

Suffice it to say I was crushed 0/3 with that warlock deck. I didn't stand a chance against anything.

However, with the pack I got from that run I did get finally my third ever legendary pull. Al'Akir the Windlord the shaman legendary.

So my luck mostly with this game is abysmal.
 
I feel like my matchup RNG is pretty bad, I play Hunter and get Priest, switch to Paladin and get Handlock, switch to Shaman and get Hunter. But it's probably just my selective memory, mixed with me playing shitty decks. I probably just need to play Priest like other smart people.

But I opened a pack the other day and got a Golden Leroy. So there's that, I had disenchanted my normal Leroy after the nerf. It's fun smashing people's face with it.
 
Well gone from Rank 19 to Rank 14-15 this weekend and doing quests with a Shaman et a Warrior deck I have. The Shaman deck works really great and I made most of my leveling with it.

I did a lot better this weekend but I fear it's because the Legend players are all down there with their legend epic friends lol.

But hey, i'll keep leveling for the sake of it...
 
So I was playing against a warlock and had full board control with taunts and Kel'Thuzad. Opponent plays Ragnaros and ends turn. Meanwhile I'm hoping he hits anything else besides Kel'Thuzad. However I see the fireball heading towards him and I'm like wow that's bad luck. BOOM he's dead BUT to my amazement, he is immediately revived.

I'm guessing this is because both their effects happen after the turn is over and technically Kel'Thuzad didn't die until turn was over???
 
that is considered to be a bug actually, but blizzard has not said anything about it yet

i guess that happens because.... at the end of the turn a queue of "end of turn actions" is created. In this queue there is ragnaross fireball and kelthuzad "revive every minion that died this turn"
then both actions occur and "at the end of the turn kelthuzad died, so he is revived"

it is a very bothering bug.

Kelthuzad can be a really pain in the ass some times
 
Well, the whole point of the questing adventurer is that it combos very well with a lot of the other cards in the deck (since the deck has a lot of 0, 1, and 2 cost actions). As such, the questing adventurer becomes a cheap card to play that will either force the use of a kill card, or silence, which means there is one less of those in their deck to use against the undertakers or sea giant or rag (or in the case where they already used their silence on the undertakers, they might not have another in their hand for use against the adventurer).

love the adventurer, one of the first cards I opened and use him in many decks still. getting him and a faceless in early packs made it much easier going against decks with 2-4 legends.
 
Ok, so I just had an EPIC fight against a warrior with my mage. I am not entirely sure of his deck, but it was based on armor (well I am sure of his entire deck, both the 1/4 give armor when any minion damaged, the 1/3 draw card when damaged, the 1/3+taunt+deathrattle do 1 damage all minions, both 5/2 axes, 3/2 axe, 2 3/3+equip 2/2 weapon, both gain 5 armor+draw card, 1 3/5 taunt, 2/1 loot hoarders, 2 owls, 1 ogre, 1 stormwind champion, 2 3/3 enrage windfurry+1 attack, 2 shield bashes, both executes, 1 battle royal, both do 2 damage to two random minions, 1 +4 attack to character, 2 2/4+1 attack for each minion damaged, 1 4/3+charge). I think I did over 150 damage to him over the course of the fight. There were at least 2 times where he went from 0 armor to over 30 in the battle. At the end, he plopped down his third to last card which was an ogre. I was so happy for that card, as I had something to use my faceless manip against, and I then froze him with my 3 damage frost bolt. He played his second to last card which was the 2/4 minion that gets +1 attack for each minion damaged. I kill it with my ogre and use my last fireball on his ogre (real glad I saved it). His last card that he draws is the second execute damaged minion, and he kills the ogre. I get my second to last card which was a 4/5+taunt+divine shield, which I play. And he starts just spamming armor (which he had been doing the entire match). I am down to 22 health with the secret that prevents death if you take fatal damage that round. He has 26 health with 47 armor. My last card was my big game hunter, which I play, and now the race is on. I do the quick math in my head and know I have won, but he keeps on playing, thinking his armor will outlast me, but he is already drawing 3 fatigue damage while I just drew my first, plus I am net gaining 7 damage each round, while the only damage I was taking was fatigue. So I can last 7 rounds of damage from fatigue, but he won't last that long. Anyway, it goes all the way to the end even when he finally sees the same math I knew.

For my troubles though, the pack I unlock is the following:
