That isn't really the same thing. Class specific cards just limit build diversity and experimentation, which is one of the best things about a TCG. Instead you are put on rails.
Sure, but it also means less build diversity and less unique and interesting things that you can DO with your mana. No real mana ramping, no control over how much mana you have.
Its just one less thing to consider in the goal to make a gross oversimplification of the genre.
With constructed, that true. But that is why limited play exists like sealed or draft play. I don't know if hearthstone has either of these. Also, the simple power gap between cards is a lot larger in hearthstone.
In other games, even commons or uncommons could be exceptionally good. You should be able to make at least a good deck even without any hugely rare of super powerful cards. But in Hearthstone, your entire deck could be easily outclassed by another individual.
I think MTG is better, but no I didn't want a clone. I just wanted a game of rival depth, intricacy, potential, and enjoyability.
