I had to install the Battle.net desktop app to install Hearthstone! I actually really like the app (and the idea of it).

For people who've been playing for awhile, was I imaging the daily quest being a one and done for the day, or did the add that in an update? Prior to the Arena going down for awhile a week or so ago, I could have swore you had to choose which daily you wanted, and then the next day, you chose another. Now, there is just quests that get replenished after you've completed them. Some are extremely easy (win 3 matches)!

I into the beta like a month ago, maybe a little longer, and at no time did you have to choose a daily quest. I think what you are noticing are the backlogged quests. If you don't do your daily for a while they don't just disappear. The next time you log in you can do the dailies you missed. I don't know what the limit is, but I've has as many as 4 at one time I think.

I remember having 3 pop up, and you actually chose one. The other 3 went away, not if they actually went away or it was just an animation, or I was imaging it, I don't know. If the quests go away, that sucks. I'd hate to be forced to literally grind out 10 coins for every 3 wins to play Arena. I can take doing 3 quests per day.

just did 2 arena runs, both went 2-3. May have had a chance if you could pick your chars instead of them also being done random. When you're priest is a level 2 and that's the one you get, not a good chance you have experience with their cards.

You don't have to 'choose one'.

They're simultaneous. They don't expire in a day either, not 'dailies' by any means.

I had 2 quests - 'win 3 games with hunter or druid' and 'win 3 games with hunter or priest'.

I won with hunter 3 times, fulfilled both quests at same time and got 80 gold (40 x 2).

I strongly suggest playing each class to at least level 10, and beating each expert AI before diving into arena. You will learn a lot about the game and earn some nice gold from one-time achievement bonuses.

I just started playing last night. I did exactly what you've recommended. I watched a few streams of Hearthstone before I got access, but aside from that, I had no experience. After playing each deck (class?) to level 10, I feel like I have a decent grasp on the basic cards.

After I finished all that, I went ahead and played a few unranked matches. I went 3-0 with my custom Mage deck and felt like I had pretty good control of the matches throughout.

I'm currently sitting at a couple hundred gold (400 some, I think). I'm planning to play some more unranked matches before I dive into Arena. I'd like to get a bit more experience playing against humans, since I'd imagine most people are better than Expert AI.

This game is a lot of fun. I'm really enjoying myself. I'm terrible at Magic. Hearthstone just makes sense. The gameplay feels very natural and it really seemed to click for me. I can see a lot of wasted hours in the future. 🙁

finally came across someone with a heavy murloc deck. pretty funny fighting it, guy was a shammy but while he had a lot of them, they were mostly common/uncommon so not that deadly and I was on the mage which is a bad match up for someone using a bunch of low health minions.

update your systeminfo for all your accounts. i was surprised i never got an invite and then realized my account had hardware info from my old computer. after updating i got an invite like a day or 2 later.

Had my first 9 win Arena streak. It was with a very well balanced Mage deck. 2 Mana Wyrms with a lot of cheap spells easily ballooned out of control and won me some duels by themselves. I had 2 Mirror Images which played well with Flesheating Ghoul and Cult Master. And Ysera protected by Counterspell was great late game.

I was stuck in 3 star Platinum for.. FOREVER. I've long given up on advancing.

But then I tried this deck:

I'm broke, so I don't have any of the 3 legendaries, but I got the rest + replaced missing cards with something still nice.

Lost like 3 games first with a shitty luck. Then won 9~ now, just broke into Diamond league 1 star.

...still advancing.

Also, their collected data set has changed! I say that because i noticed a lot more data after I finally upgraded my info from my old i5-2500k to my newer i7-4770k. So, it might not be that your hardware is old, but rather, they exclude incomplete data sets.

I hit 2 star diamond with my self-made priest deck a few months ago but haven't played much lately. Matchmaking seems to be based on your best deck, so any time I try to test something new it matches me up against other diamond 2 players, even if I select unranked, so it's kinda hard to get a real feel for how the deck works.

Also, beta invite system is utterly retarded. I got two invite emails in my inbox, hilariously showing right above a receipt email for buying hearthstone cards. Blizzard, get your damn systems to talk to themselves, if I am buying cards in hearthstone that should be a pretty big clue that I am already in the beta.

Gave the keys to friends already.

I won a game today I know the other guy was upset about. Playing a warlock against a mage, down to both of us having 4 health. He has a full board with a taunt and Illidan out. I have a single minion. I draw a corruption and would have to trade with his taunt and lose. I tap and draw a card. The one card I need! 4 damage to a minion. Kills is taunt and win the game.

Awww yesss, just broke into 3-Star Masters. The game suddenly got 'easy' to figure out once you realize how OP some mechanics are (buffers + board/tempo control + abuse early game aggression) & useless taunt is.

Watched few streams, read few TL posts, tinkered with my own deck, tested few things.... and a week later here I am. 🙂

I wonder if I can get into that coveted top 120.

And my max-win (9) Arena achievement:

I can't wait til Arena is expanded to have up to 12 wins. That'd be a great challenge.

Finally lost a game to a legendary. Nasty little match against a priest on the mage. He was doing the deploy and buff and I was just able to keep him under control, then I was able to drop the card that gives me a student when a spell is cast along with a couple + damage minions. Dropped the image taunts (which counts as a spell 🙂 ), and then my board started overwhelming him. I was at the point of sacrificing the spawned 1-1's so when I cast a spell I'd have a spot for a new one. He then dropped deathwing as I was about the wipe the rest of his minions and then seriously start chunking away his health. Then I got fubared by the RNG while he got some decent minions and goes from losing on the next turn to winning about 6 turns later.

I have been playing extremely aggressive early-mid game decks lately. I really prefer those. Get a nice mana curve. Also, Questing Adventurer is op if you have a lot of low minions in your hand.

I've still yet to get a 9 win arena. =( Not going 1-3 as often though. I haven't really put a lot of thought into card values, so my drafting is probably still pretty poor.

Also, it annoys me so much when people play slow. Like seriously, you have 2 mana, there couldn't possibly be that many choices in your hand to deliberate that long.

One thing I've noticed, unless the other guy has a stacked rush deck and draws in the right order, it seems to be better than not to delay playing cards until you can do so in a meta order.

Had the minion cards stacked on each other in hand bug due to receiving a card while an action is in progress bug. Really sucked as I wanted to play the newest card first but couldn't until I played the older card (which was graphically below the newer card).

Only played 2 games last night to do the daily as my hunter. First was against another hunter, not a real challenge and he must not have been happy after he wiped his side of the board to kill a core hound I had dropped, only to see me then drop another core hound.

Second was against a pally that was either real new or really bad. He played a couple cards that turned some of my guys attack value to 1 which delayed his death, but he wasn't able to do any real damage himself so I just kept plinking him down till he had no counters left.

I've had that card bug a few times. It is really annoying. I've also experienced the card being stuck face down on the board of play glitch which happens when you send a card back to the hand of the opponent somehow.

Other than those two bugs, I can't find any others. The game is pretty well polished for a closed beta.

That card one and not getting dailies are only 2 I can readily recall. I did have a connection oine once where the screen had a greyed over look to it just as the play window was opening up. Must have been the same for other guy cause I just let it sit that way for a couple minutes then won as the other guy left.

just left a match against some guy named muerten, after the third time of him getting the fuse I was ready to call it.
