Many Muslims are very nervous about the upcoming 'Hearings on the radicalization of American Muslims' on Capital Hill that's coming up this month.

Fear is good. All my best friends live in fear. It's the American way.

Fear of terrorists, muggers, disease, etc. It sells a lot of products and services and in these times we need all the help we can get creating jobs. What kind of things can we sell to the fearful Muslim community? I need to know before checking with my stock broker.

What is to be nervous about? They can clearly define for themselves where they stand on the issue of Islamic Terrorism.

The nervous ones have something to hide and should be killed. Am I correct brother.

What's wrong with a hearing on a subject that is important to a lot of Americans? I don't support some random witch hunt to vilify some bogeyman, but we've seen radicalization of muslims all over the world. It's hard enough keeping the bad guys away when they are not Americans, it's that much harder when they are home grown.....

That's the problem, there just aren't enough home grown terrorists left!

We've already cracked down on everyone from radical right wing militias to PETA. Homeland security hasn't had a good bust in years other then the occasional stupid teen. Without a good witch hunt it's just going to become increasingly difficult to justify the suspension of constitutional rights much less the expense of homeland security. You don't seriously want your constitutional rights back and lower taxes do you?

If were innocent then they wouldn't have anything to be nervous about.

Exactly. Forget about bigotry and everyone tapping your phones and computers and FBI agents knocking on your door and people crossing the street when you walk by. Only guilty people have a reason to be nervous. We should go out right now and arrest every nervous person we find! That's the way to deal with these terrorists.

I don't want this shit happening on any buses in the U.S KittyCat. I'm guessing you'd be chanting along with them?

I would not, so you are as wrong as you are clueless. Typical of you to make an unrelated ad-hom attack because you have no logical argument. Par for the course for people like you though.

Someday, maybe you and others will educate yourselves , but I doubt it. If you don't understand that concept that like probably 99.5% of all Muslims are like you (actually, better then you, since they don't come in supporting crap like this), and don't have anything to do with things like you posted. 99.5% of all Muslims are just like 99.5% of all Americans. They want a decent job, make good money and just be able to get through their lives OK.

Can we hold hearings on radical Christians? Lets interrogate them, I mean they have fringe people that committed plenty of crimes in the US. I don't hear a thing from you about that.

Or how about politicians? OR any other non-Muslim groups? Yeah, I didn't think you would mention them either.

Don't be stupid. I asked you a question and you're the one going off half-cocked. All self righteous and truly, just making an ass of yourself. You accuse me of making assumptions of which there are none in my post and in doing so, make a slew of them yourself.

It reflects poorly on you KittyCat.

You are the one that posted something stupid. That youtube clip has nothing to do with the fact that 99% of Muslims are not terrorists, and you know it.

The only reason you posted it was to scare people, to bring fear-mongering and emotion into it, which actually, is just what this idiot congressmen is trying to do. Way to prove my point.

So do you support investigations into Christians, since they have committed plenty of crimes as well?

Were I an American Muslim which I am not, I would be very unhappy at such a congressional McCarthism based investigation. Seek and ye shall find, ten or 20 or more American Muslims that have been radicalized and all the better if we get to ignore all the non-Muslims that have been radicalized over the same issues, but what will likely be lost in the whole politically charged investigations is that AMERICAN MUSLIMS are overwhelming patriotic Americans just like everyone else.

After all, when American Muslims number in the many many millions, what does the rotten behavior of even 50 bad American Muslims say about a huge group? When 3% of Americans are in jail for other rotten behavior, 50 divided by say 10 million American Muslims would yield an American Muslim fraction unpatriotic percentage of 0.005%.

Somehow I doubt such a congressional investigation will come up with a list of more than 50.

I was born at night, but not last night.

Radicalization seems to have been a legitimate problem; England comes to mind.

As to whether this will just be a witch hunt, I think we'll have to wait and see before judging it.

Muslims in my area were out in the streets celebrating on 9/11. The local police basically told them to go home or they would not be able to protect them once other people saw them. Is there a 5th column of muslims in this country? Probably not, but theres certainly enough to warrant congress looking into it.

America is a cultural melting pot and it has made us a diverse country. This also makes it complicated. Most countries have a dominate culture, but the USA is quite a hodgepodge depending on the region. I believe it is important for an immigrant to assimilate to a certain extent to the american culture and to recognize the laws of our land supersede any beliefs or cultural norms they are familiar with. It isn't America's job to accommodate you and your beliefs, it is your job to amend them so they can work in this diverse place. The government cannot elevate any groups right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness over that of another.

The DRIZZLE sez, "Muslims in my area were out in the streets celebrating on 9/11."

Pray tell, what area do you live in? Because in the area of the USA I live in, I did not see one single Muslim dancing in the street following 911.

Pray tell, tell us where you live, facts are sharp things, they can be cross checked, and I intend to do so when you post your location.
