It is a PR move. If they really wanted to distance themselves they would pull advertising from the network. They won't do that though because they don't really care about why people are upset, just that they are, which is what PR are all about. Then they spin it to the public that "they care about the issues".

PR because they are afraid of the public associating them with Glenn Beck, not because of what he actually said. It is PR because they are doing it because of the public, not because of any actual company beliefs.

Very similar to how politicians will denounce an organization as not being in line with their values, but at the same time not refusing campaign contributions.

How many people here have actually watched his show? or just deem it lunacy because its on fox news? For the millionth time, does anyone know the difference between a reporter and a Commentator? It is his job to analize politics and give his opinion thoughts and comments on it. Fox has reporters too that are actually pretty fair usually, i.e because they are paid to report not to make comments and opinions. Usually they have O'riley, hanity, beck, maddow, olberman on late at night because there isn't much new news coming out.
He usually makes some pretty valid points, yes he very often goes very overboard on then, but he is usually pretty sarcastic as well too. The racist comment was a bit much but I dunno maybe he was just trying to get a rise out of people. Either way with his ratings im sure fox can find some new advertisers.

Glen Beck should have a show on Comedy Central. His schtick is almost as good as Colbert's. He's not quite as believable though, but pretty close. My vote for best fake political hack still goes to O'reilly. His satire is just so good!

You've obviously never seen Sean Hannity's show. No one does "Clueless Conservative" than Hannity.
