Lets take a look at his time slot and compare that to the rest of the cable news networks

Beck has almost 4x his closest competitor.

Exactly. No company can deny those numbers. It's marketing 101.

Bad publicity is better than no publicity and this thread will drive up fox news channel and this guy.

Good marketing is good marketing
Beck's book also sold like fricken CRAZY. It's still at #5 on Amazon.com. He's tapped into something...corny and weird as he is.

I know nothing of this Glenn Beck character, until John Stewart showed me some clips of him deriding the health care system in the US a year and a half ago, and then going on and on about how it was the best system in the world the last little while. That made me lol.

That something is called stupidity. Watching 4 to 6 hours of the idiot box every night will do that to you.

A Fox representative noted that Geico is dropping its ads from the show but was quick to note that it was shifting dollars to other programs. "The advertisers referenced have all moved their spots from Beck to other programs on the network, so there has been no revenue lost," the rep said.

owned

lol

Good God are you people ignorant. Glen Beck's big moiuth cost FOX money no matter how you look at it.

Geico has pulled its ads from Fox News Channel's "The Glenn Beck Program." Lawyers.com, which is owned by LexisNexis, also has vowed not to advertise during the program, according to Color of Change, an African-American online political organization that has been urging advertisers to stop supporting the show.

Additionally, Procter & Gamble, Progressive Insurance and SC Johnson all said their ad placements during the broadcast were made in error and that they would correct the mistake.

How exactly do you call people ignorant, and post the very part of the article that proves you are wrong? Interesting. Unless I guess them spending the money on different time slots is somehow them...not...spending...money...wait 0.o

If less people want to be sponsers for Glen Beck's nonsense for fear of losing business instead of gaining business then the rate FOX can charge for that airtime decreases.

Ergo Glen Beck is costing Fox money.

Your problem is you can't think outside of your little box.

Right, so it's theoretical, but in fact it hasn't cost them a cent, noted.

Blah, blah, blah. What part of Beck losing the trust/respect of the PEOPLE PAYING HIS BILLS don't you get?

Go back to your playground, you're not ready for primetime yet.

I understand that insulting people is all you really have left when confronted with facts, but I'm just letting you know, it ain't real appealing, and makes you seem kind of, well, stupid.

The answer to your question is...

No.

Can't say the same about you, however, from what I have seen.

BTW, I don't watch Glen Beck or any other cable show regularly, but the few times I saw him he was making valid observations, albeit in a histrionic way.

I have the same intolerance for idiocy as he does, I just choose not to indulge in expressing it the way he does.

I should rethink that, however. He probably makes a lot more than I do.

Hmmmm.

It's the left wingers answer for most everything they disagree with. You're either stupid or evil (or both). They can't possibly comprehend any opinion other than their own, so elitism requires them to live in a black and white world. It's called being progressive and tolerant, we tolerate you as long as you agree with us, anything else is now un-american! We'll see who's reign was worse, the foreign policy neocon or the social neocon.

Good, I'm glad these companies are making a statement. A shame it won't reverberate with Beck's zombies and the trash who idolize him.

I am an avid FoxNews viewer....but I can honestly say I have never watched his show. Everytime I see him on other shows segments, he just gets on my nerves.

What information would that be? The lies and misinformation that he is causing fox to lose revenue as some moonbats have ascertained?

No, that some advertisers have pulled their ads from his show due to his comments.

The only fact that matters is Beck is losing sponsers. Spin it anyway you see fit, I'm sure you and the rest of the boys on the playground can convince yourselves that biting the hand that feeds you is a good idea.

As long as he has sponsors that are willing to pay he has lost nothing. The monthly income for Fox stays the same. When the revenue actually drops then there is a story.
Shows losing sponsors is nothing new in the industry. It happens daily to everything from shows like The View to NBC nightly news. It is how the industry works. They pay for the ad space that brings them the most return. It is a PR move for the companies in the article. If they really wanted to stand up for what they believe they would remove all advertising from Fox News, since they air the show. But they will not do that because their beliefs only apply to a point, that point being how many dollars it is worth to them.

Is it a PR move or are they actually afraid of a backlash from being associated with Beck?? I think it's the latter.

It is a PR move. If they really wanted to distance themselves they would pull advertising from the network. They won't do that though because they don't really care about why people are upset, just that they are, which is what PR are all about. Then they spin it to the public that "they care about the issues".
